Central Laboratory of Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery obtain international accreditation

SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery laboratory has obtained international ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for Euro-5 diesel products in accordance with EN 590 test parameters, SOCAR told Report.

After the accreditation audit carried out by the Turkish Accreditation Center (TÜRKAK), on August 20, the head of the institution, Banu Muderrisoglu, presented the relevant certificates to Emil Alkhasli, the CEO of SOCAR Downstream Management LLC, and Volkan Senol, the company's laboratory director.

The main advantage of accreditation is the international recognition of the test results of the refinery laboratory. Obtaining international accreditation by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) provides easier access to export markets and ensures reliable product quality.

Besides being the most reliable indicator of compliance with international standards and technical competence, ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation also includes aspects of impartiality and confidentiality.

At present, works are underway to complete the accreditation of the plant's laboratory at the Azerbaijan Accreditation Center (AZAK).
