Buildings in Karabakh to be supplied with energy from renewables

When designing buildings and other facilities in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh, depending on the available potential, there will be plans to install capacities for the generation of renewable energy, Deputy Head of the Design and Legal Department of the State Agency for Renewable Energy under the Ministry of Energy Jabrayil Aliyev told Report.

“The First State Program for the Great Return to the Territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation”, adopted in accordance with the order of the head of state dated November 16, 2022, will form a development model based on the principles of peace and progress, he said.

“For about 30 years, 20% of the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan were under the occupation of Armenia. During the occupation, cities and other settlements, including infrastructure facilities, were completely destroyed in these territories, our national cultural heritage was destroyed, natural resources were plundered, significant damage was inflicted to the economy.

However, as a result of the Patriotic War that began on September 27, 2020 and lasted 44 days, our lands were liberated from the Armenian occupation, the territorial integrity of the country was restored, thereby beginning the sustainable development of these territories,” he added.

“In general, the implementation of the state program will be carried out within the goals of sustainable resettlement of the population and the reintegration of the territories liberated from occupation into economic activity. Naturally, sustainable development includes, along with other sectors of the economy, the construction and restoration of energy infrastructure,” Jabrayil Aliyev said.
