By 7:03 PM (GMT+4), October Brent futures on London's ICE Futures Exchange had fallen by $0.86 (1.08%) to $78.5 per barrel.
September WTI futures on the NYMEX exchange had fallen by $0.95 (1.25%) to $74.82 per barrel by this time.
Earlier in trading, Brent rose to $80.95 per barrel, and WTI to $76.7 per barrel on reports of new Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
