BP sells part of its gas stations in UK

Motor Fuel Group (MFG), India's largest gas station operator, has signed an agreement to buy seven existing stations and nine new industry sites (NTI) from energy giant BP, Report states, citing petrolplaza.

Six operating stations are located in Scotland and one in Surrey. The acquisition is part of a broader agreement that includes the supply of fuel for 100 facilities.

The deal is part of a broader agreement, including fuel supply for 100 sites.

Jeremy Clarke, chief operating officer at MFG, said: "We are particularly delighted with this transaction given the quality of the operational assets and geographical spread of the NTI sites.

"It is a great opportunity for us to apply our proven operating model, improve the shop offering for our customers, introduce a 'food to go' option where appropriate, and improve the valeting offer. We will also be looking to install several high power EV chargers at each location."

Andy Allen, BP's UK sales manager, added: "BP is delighted to have secured this transaction as part of a broader opportunity further to strengthen the long-standing relationship between BP and MFG. The re-signing of 64 existing BP branded sites, and the conversion of 36 others brings the total number of BP branded MFG sites to over 280, and we look forward to working with MFG on this and other opportunities in the future."

The acquisition will bring the total number of stations operated by MFG to 918, maintaining its position as the UK's largest independent forecourt operator.
