One of the most successful examples of public-private sector cooperation in terms of career development is observed in Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector, BP's Vice President for the Caspian region Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli stated at the Azerbaijan Career Development Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan has achieved great success in the oil and gas industry through public-private sector cooperation. Large agreements such as the Contract of the Century for the development of oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea and the Shah Deniz project are the most prominent examples of public-private sector cooperation. These projects have made significant contributions to Azerbaijan's economic development and the training of new personnel," said Aslanbayli.
He emphasized that the cooperation established between SOCAR on behalf of the state and foreign private companies has led to continuous development for more than 30 years: "During this period, Azerbaijan has fulfilled all its obligations, creating a favorable environment for foreign investors. The application of modern production, safety, and labor protection standards in the oil and gas sector has accelerated technological development in the country and created conditions for training internationally recognized specialists. Today, these specialists are successfully operating in the international arena. BP's global production manager Ilham Mammadov is a clear example of this success."
According to the BP official, financial, HR, and environmental standards applied in public-private sector cooperation have also spread widely in the non-oil sector and positively influenced local businesses: "This model can be successfully applied in other sectors in the future."
