BP official highlights higher risks in oil and gas sector

The oil and gas industry entails greater risks compared to other sectors, according to Idrak Nazarov, Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection Manager at BP's Sangachal Terminal, Report informs.

Nazarov made the remark during a conference on "Digitalization and the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Workplaces."

He emphasized that BP has been operating in Azerbaijan since 1992, with occupational safety serving as one of the company's core strategic priorities. "For this reason, occupational safety holds particular significance in this field. It is considered a strategic priority for BP, and remains a key component of the company’s operational activities and sustainability," he stated.

The official further noted that BP utilizes a dedicated management system for operations: "This system ensures daily activities are conducted with higher quality, adhering to both local and international standards."

Nazarov concluded by outlining BP’s principles regarding occupational safety: "The first principle is that occupational safety will never be subject to compromise. We regard occupational safety as the foremost concern across all processes."
