Bishkek proposes Azerbaijan to sign long-term contract for supply, processing of oil to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek has proposed Baku to sign a long-term contract for the supply of crude oil to Kyrgyzstan and its processing, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.

This issue was discussed at a meeting in Bishkek between Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibrayev.

“At the meeting, Ibrayev emphasized Azerbaijan’s high experience in the field of oil field development, manufacture of oil products and proposed cooperation in the following areas: signing a long-term contract for the supply and processing of crude oil to Kyrgyzstan, participation in hydropower and renewable energy projects,” the report says.

He also proposed considering the issue of preferential financing at the expense of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund for $2 million at the initial stage “for the purchase and installation of charging devices for electric vehicles.”

Shahbazov expressed readiness to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in these areas.

“He proposed working with a special working group on oil delivery. In addition, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan recalled that an investment forum on renewable energy sources will be held in the near future, and invited Kyrgyzstan to actively participate in it,” the report added.
