Baku Oil Refinery to undergo planned maintenance in November

The Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery (BNPZ) is set to halt operations in November of this year for scheduled maintenance, Report informs citing an informed source.

"The facility will be stopped for planned repair work in November in connection with the ongoing modernization and reconstruction," the source noted. The shutdown is likely to be the last of its kind, as the annual maintenance halts may no longer be necessary from next year onward.

The second phase of the refinery's modernization and reconstruction is nearing completion, and there may not be a subsequent stage, according to the source.

Concurrently with BNPZ, the ethylene-polyethylene plant of Azerkhimiya Production Association will also be temporarily suspended in November.

With a capacity of 6.5 million tons per year, BNPZ plays a vital role in Azerbaijan's oil refining sector. The refinery, named after the country's national leader Heydar Aliyev, has been undergoing significant upgrades to enhance its efficiency and output.
