The number of operating drilling rigs for oil and gas production worldwide in March decreased by 20 compared to February, or 1.1%, to 1,793 units, according to data from the US oil and gas service company Baker Hughes, Report informs.
Over the year, the number of operating drilling rigs decreased by 86, or 4.5%.
According to the company, in the US, the figure increased over the month by three, to 625 units; in Canada, the number of drilling rigs decreased by 36, to 197 units.
The number of drilling rigs in Europe increased by four, to 118. In the Middle East, the figure decreased by five, to 344 rigs. In the Asia-Pacific region, the number of rigs rose by ten, to 229; in Africa, it increased by four, to 115. In Latin America, the number of rigs remained at the February level of 165.
