Azerigaz: "We have no subscribers in Khankandi"

Azerigaz CJSC of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has not yet carried out any technical work in Khankandi, the Director-General of the CJSC, Ruslan Aliyev, said during the "Open Door" campaign today.

"The subscribers located in that area are not subscribers of Azerigaz CJSC. Therefore, it is impossible to give any exact information," Aliyev said.

The director-general noted that they had visited the area many times: "According to our observations, there are not as many people living there as the Armenian press writes."

According to Aliyev, no inventory procedures are carried out in the territories of Azerbaijan controlled by peacekeepers: "Therefore, it is incorrect to say exactly how many subscribers are supplied with natural gas in that area. But as a result of inventorying, we can note it. We do not have subscribers there."

Azerigaz CJSC carried out some repair work on the gas line to Khankandi city. At present, the city of Khankandi is supplied with natural gas.

The Karabakh economic zone, including the city of Khankandi, was supplied with gas by the Azerbaijani state in the 1980s. Gas infrastructure was created there. However, most of the communications were destroyed by the Armenians during the occupation.
