AzerEnergy building digital substation in liberated Lachin

AzerEnergy OJSC, the largest electrical power producer in Azerbaijan, is building a 110/35/10 kV digital substation at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level in Gorchu village of the liberated Lachin district, AzerEnergy spokesperson Teymur Abdullayev told Report.

Abdullayev notes that AzerEnergy is carrying out large-scale work to connect the Lachin district to the general energy system of Azerbaijan and provide it with stable and uninterrupted electricity.

Thus, a 110-kilovolt high-voltage transmission line is being laid at a distance of 42 km from the Kalbajar substation, commissioned in 2021, to Gorchu village of the Lachin district. In some places, up to 250 anchor poles, each weighing an average of 10 tons and 40 meters high, taking into account the landscape along the route of the transmission line, are laid at an altitude of 2,200 meters.

The AzerEnergy official added that 110-kilovolt outdoor, 35-kilovolt and 10-kilovolt indoor switchgear will be installed at the newly built digital substation in Lachin.
