Azerbaijan, WB mull projects on energy transmission from Caspian Sea to Europe

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Stefanie Stallmeister, the newly appointed country manager of the World Bank office in Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Energy.

Azerbaijan and the World Bank discussed the work done in the direction of the projects related to energy transmission from the Caspian Sea to Europe.

During the conversation, the implementation of projects in Azerbaijan with the technical and financial support of the World Bank was highly appreciated, and exchange of views was conducted on the issues of cooperation with the Bank, priority directions of development of Azerbaijan's energy sector.

Also, information was provided on the energy transition, energy efficiency, renewable energy, as well as the evaluation of the potential of wind energy in the Caspian Sea.

The meeting participants also touched upon the preparation of the new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the World Bank Group (WBG) for Azerbaijan, covering the period FY2025-FY20285.
