Azerbaijan, UAE mull joint green energy projects

Azerbaijan has discussed joint green energy projects with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, the discussions took place during a meeting between Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan aims to become a country of clean environment and green energy. Information was provided about ongoing projects and their implementation status in the direction of efficient energy use and creation of new sustainable energy sources.

At the same time, joint projects of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Masdar company of the UAE, as well as future prospects for their implementation, were discussed.

The parties also discussed the prospects of joint economic activities between the countries, the promotion of active cooperation in the energy sector, and partnership with Azerbaijan within the framework of COP29.
