Azerbaijan significantly increases methanol production

From January through October 2022, a total of 449,300 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) were produced in Azerbaijan, 54.2% more year on year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

As of November 1, 2022, the amount of finished products was 44,500 tons.

Methanol production is carried out at the Methanol Plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the Garadagh district, near Baku.

The Methanol Plant was commissioned in 2013.
