In January-February 2024, 2.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were exported from Azerbaijan to Europe, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.
This is an increase of 0.2 billion cubic meters, or 10.53 percent, compared to the same period in 2023.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s overall gas exports for the first two months of 2024 stood at 4.1 billion cubic meters. There was no change compared to the same period of the previous year.
During this period, Azerbaijan sold 1.4 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye, and 0.6 billion cubic meters to Georgia. Gas exports to Türkiye increased by 0.3 billion cubic meters, or 17.65 percent, while the volume of natural gas transported to Georgia rose by 0.1 billion cubic meters, or 14.3 percent.
In January-February 2024, about 0.8 billion cubic meters of gas were transported to Türkiye through the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP), representing a decrease of 0.1 billion cubic meters, or 11.12 percent, compared to the indicator of 2023.
