Azerbaijan’s ethylene polymer exports rose by 40% in August

Azerbaijan exported 85,340 tons of ethylene polymers (in primary forms) worth just under $94.87 million in the first eight months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.

Compared to the same period in 2023, the exports decreased by 16% in value and 22% in volume.

In August alone, Azerbaijan exported 16,800 tons of ethylene polymers (in primary forms) worth $20.2 million, which represents a 56.5% increase in value and a 40% increase in volume year-on-year.

Over the eight-month period, Azerbaijan’s main non-oil products worth over $1.837 billion were exported, marking a 7% decrease compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

Overall, Azerbaijan’s trade transactions with foreign countries exceeded $30.995 billion in the first eight months of 2024.
