Azerbaijan's electricity exports to Türkiye plummet

Azerbaijan exported just over 394.7 million kilowatt hours of electricity to Türkiye, valued at $25.14 million in the first four months of the current year, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee.

This shows a sharp decline of 71.5 percent in volume and 88.9 percent in value year-on-year.

During four months, Türkiye accounted for 46.1% of Azerbaijan's total electricty exports.

In January through April of 2024, Azerbaijan exported just under 856.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, valued at $47.64. Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the exports represent a 69.4-percent decrease in volume and an 84.8-percent decrease in value.

In general, Azerbaijan supplied electricity to four countries, Georgia, Iran, Türkiye and Russia.
