Pakistan is currently in an advanced stage of negotiations with Saudi Arabia to establish a refinery, Pakistan’s State Minister for Petroleum, Musadiq Malik, said, Report informs via The News.
Azerbaijan and China may also become the participants in the project in Balochistan.
Further details regarding the extent of China’s and Azerbaijan’s involvement are yet to be disclosed.
The project also involves four state-run Pakistani companies, Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), and Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) which signed an MoU on cooperation.
The refinery is capable of processing 0.3 million barrels per day, including 8 million tons of diesel fuel and 6 million tons of gasoline a year.
