Azerbaijan may build 7-GW wind farm in Caspian Sea

Today, the Ministry of Energy, together with the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, held a presentation of a roadmap in the field of energy, Report informs, citing IFC.

According to the information, thanks to the thoughout long-term strategy, as well as the development of infrastructure, investments and policies that will be implemented based on this strategy, by 2040, Azerbaijan can reach a design capacity of 7 gigawatts for wind power generation, which can play an important role in fulfilling such parallel country priorities like decarbonization and sustainable economic growth.

The purpose of the roadmap is to help make decisions about the rules, legal framework and infrastructure for this new industry in the face of growing global interest in offshore wind energy.
