The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 1.055 billion ($0.62 billion) in January-April 2022, up 2.7% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 10.1%, settling at 148.5 million manats ($ $87.35 million).
Azerbaijan produced 8,676.7 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 3.5% from the previous year.
The hydropower plants produced 478.3 million kWh of electricity, 11.9% higher than a year ago.
Heating power stations produced 7,879.6 million kWh of energy, 3% more than 2021.
Wind power production fell 49.8% to 15 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 29% to 17.8 million kWh.
