Azerbaijan increases solar power production by 15%

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 2,550.9 million ($1.5 billion) in January-November 2022, up 3.2% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 4.7%, settling at 446.2 million manats ($262.47 million).

Azerbaijan produced 24,717.7 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 5.1% from the previous year. Of this, 23,906.1 million kWh were commercial electricity, which is 4.9% more than the last year.

The hydropower plants produced 1,502.3 million kWh of electricity, 29.2% higher than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 22,300.6 million kWh of energy, 3.7% more than in 2021.

Wind power production fell 44.7% to 44.8 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 14.5% to 58.4 million kWh.
