Azerbaijan explores accelerating implementation of green energy corridor project with Romania

It is important to strengthen efforts related to the acceleration of the implementation process of the green energy corridor project to be created between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary and Romania, Report informs.

This issue was discussed at the meeting of Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov with Minister of Energy of Romania Sebastian Ioan Burduja, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Measures taken to identify a consulting law firm and apply for Project of Common Interests (PCIs/PMIs) status for the creation of a joint venture along this corridor were reviewed. Romania's support to this project was highly appreciated.

At the meeting, the role of strategically important energy projects in raising cooperation relations to a new stage of development was discussed. In this regard, the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe green energy corridor, the Black Sea LNG project, the Ring of Solidarity, SOCAR and Romgaz S.A. gas supply, as well as the current situation and prospects of cooperation on gas transportation with Transgaz were discussed.

The issues of expanding cooperation in the field of oil and oil products trade were also touched upon.

During the conversation, it was agreed to take necessary measures to establish intensive relations and strengthen cooperation between the relevant institutions of both countries in the field of regulation of energy issues.
