Azerbaijan considering use of geothermal energy in Karabakh 

Azerbaijan is considering the use of geothermal energy in the liberated territories in the future, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy, Tabriz Ammayev, told Report.

"As you know, we have signed an agreement with bp to build a 240-megawatt wind power station in Karabakh. Moreover, an agreement was signed with the company Masdar of the United Arab Emirates to construct wind and solar power stations in these territories," he added.

Ammayev said that other projects could be implemented in the future: "Four hydropower plants have already been restored, and the area has been cleaned. It is planned to restore 5 small hydropower plants this year. In the coming years, we plan to restore a larger number of hydropower plants with the participation of the private sector."
