Azerbaijan announces volume of electricity production in 2021

In January-August this year, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 18,612,400,000 kWh, increasing by 1,109,700,000 kWh compared to the same period last year, said the operative data of the Ministry of Energy on electricity in Azerbaijan.

Thus, compared to 8 months of 2020, electricity production rose by 994,200,000 kWh at Thermal Power Plant (TPP) to 17,409,700,000 kWh, 120.300,000 kWh at Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) to 966,900,000 kWh, while at other sources (Small Hydroelectric Power Plants (SHPP), Solar Power Plants (SPPs) and Solid Waste Incineration Plant (SWIP) decreased by 4.8 million kWh to 235.8 million kWh.

Wind power plants generated 58.6 million kWh, solar power plants 38 million kWh, and the Solid Waste Incineration Plant 139.2 million kWh.

In the reporting period, the electricity production by Azerenergy OJSC amounted to 16, 737,100,000 kWh (15,892,700,000 kWh at TTP, 844,400,000 kWh at HPPs), at Nakhchivan AR State Energy Service - to 312,300,000 kWh (165,700,000 kWh at TPPs, 111,600,000 kWh at HPPs, 35 million kWh at SPPs), by wind power plants of Azerishig OJSC - to 43,100,000 million kWh and by independent power plants - to 1,519,900,000 kWh.
