Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to sign strategic energy partnership agreement

Azerbaijan is gearing up to sign an intergovernmental agreement with Kazakhstan on strategic partnership in the energy sphere, according to Report.

During his speech at the first meeting of energy ministers from Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Energy, Orkhan Zeynalov, touched upon the current level of energy cooperation with Kazakhstan and highlighted the resumption of Kazakhstani oil transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline since March last year.

"To further deepen the energy cooperation between our countries, a draft 'Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the Field of Energy between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan' has been prepared," stated Zeynalov. He expressed confidence that the signing of this document will contribute to elevating the two nations' relations to a strategic level."
