Kazakhstan plans to increase oil transportation volumes through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aghalar Atamoghlanov said in an interview with Report's Kazakhstan bureau.
According to him, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as traditional energy exporters, are actively developing cooperation in this sphere.
"According to the agreements reached, a gradual increase is expected in the volume of Kazakh oil transit through Azerbaijan's territory. In 2023, BTC exported 1.3 million tons of Kazakh oil, which is 5.5 times more than in 2022. And in the current year, the delivery of Kazakh oil through BTC is planned at 1.5 million tons. There are plans to increase transit volumes through gradual capacity expansion of the Baku seaport," said the ambassador.
