Türkiye's demand for electricity and natural gas has tripled over the past 20 years, Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, said at the 3rd Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum held today in Nakhchivan, Report informs.
The minister said that Türkiye's demand for electricity increases by 4.7% annually: "Türkiye's energy policy is to meet the growing demand for energy in the coming period, reduce dependence on foreign energy and achieve a carbon-free economy in the next 30 years. To achieve these goals, we need a big transformation in the field of energy."
Bayraktar believes that a successful energy transformation is possible only with a sensitive, agile, and rational policy, as well as bilateral and multilateral beneficial cooperation.
