US ambassador celebrates achievements of 90 IDP students from Azerbaijan's Zangilan and Aghdam

US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mark Libby, congratulated 90 students from schools for internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Zangilan and Aghdam on completing a year-long English language learning program organized by the embassy.

According to Report, in a post on the embassy's social media account X, Ambassador Libby emphasized the significance of learning English in opening doors to new opportunities and fostering understanding between cultures.

He stated, "Learning a language is the first step to understanding a country and its people. Personally, my journey with Azerbaijani has enriched my experience in this beautiful country, fostering deeper connections and friendships. The US Embassy takes pride in supporting initiatives like this English language program. Shared language fosters better collaboration between nations, paving the way for meaningful interactions and partnerships. Beyond language, this program offered insights into American culture and traditions. Just as I learned about Azerbaijani culture and values during my study of Azerbaijani, so has your study of American culture enhanced your language skills and cultural understanding. This cultural knowledge, coupled with proficiency in English, is sure to open doors to opportunities," the ambassador told the graduates.
