UNICEF: Azerbaijan has made great progress in preschool education

Azerbaijan has made great progress in increasing the level of comprehensiveness of preschool education, Vidur Chopra, UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Regional Adviser for Early Child Development, said at the international scientific-practical conference on a new look at quality in preschool education, Report informs.

According to a UNICEF official, the community-based preschool education model is very successful: "Its implementation in remote areas should be welcomed. Building modular schools is also a good step."

The expert emphasized that, in addition to this, a number of new challenges are emerging not only in Azerbaijan but also in other countries: "It should be considered to expand the scope of the service in preschool education. One model cannot meet the needs. The daily model is expensive. Different models and ideas should be formed. In this regard, the public and private sectors working together is a successful model."
