UN Secretary-General: Contribution of AI to global economy might reach $15 trillion

Artificial intelligence (AI) can contribute up to $15 trillion to the global economy by 2030, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said at a UN Security Council meeting on artificial intelligence, Report informs.

Guterres stressed that he was amazed and shocked by the development of generative AI. "The speed and reach of this new technology in all its forms are absolutely unprecedented," the UN Secretary-General said, stressing that the number of the popular ChatGPT chatbot users reached 100 million in just two months.

Guterres noted that the financial sector expects AI to contribute between $10 trillion and $15 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
