Ukrainian schoolchildren walk around Icherishahar in Baku

Students of the school named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva in Ukraine’s Irpin walked around Icherishahar (lit. Inner City) in Baku and got acquainted with the sights of the Old City, Report informs.

The goal of the Ukrainian schoolchildren’s visit to Azerbaijan is to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the country.

According to one of the schoolchildren, the STEAM educational methodology, which is now widely used in Azerbaijan, should be introduced in Ukraine as well.

"I've been here [in Baku] for the second day, I experienced incredible impressions. Baku is an absolutely unique city for me. We have already managed to visit the STEAM educational center. I think that such places will help children develop cooperation and teamworking. Therefore, these technologies should be introduced in Ukraine as well," said Ivan Rudoy, a 10th-grade student.

According to Alexandra Shevchuk, a student in the same class, Baku schools are very advanced.

"Baku is a stunning city with very nice people and atmosphere," she added.

Another student, Gloria Prudkoy said that she always dreamed of visiting Azerbaijan, in particular, Baku: "I read a lot of interesting things about your traditions and culture. I hope to learn a lot of new things during this visit."
