Ukrainian Minister of Education addresses Azerbaijani students over recognition of diplomas

Kiev. 26 November. REPORT.AZ / The problem of non-recognition of diplomas of a number of Ukrainian universities for Azerbaijani students does exist and it is being settled, Report informs citing Ukraine Education Minister Liliia Hrynevych.

She said diplomas of Ukrainian universities that are very weak or are private are often not recognized in Azerbaijan.

"I am aware of this problem. I want to say that we are already settling it," she noted adding that this issue has already been discussed during the visits of her deputy and respective Ukrainian delagation to Baku.

The minister noted that since 2014 the recognition of Azerbaijani diplomas in Ukraine has risen by almost seven times. "It means that today we are cooperating with Azerbaijani universities more intensively and we know exactly the universities whose diplomas can be recognized," the Ukrainian minister assured.

She addressed the Azerbaijani students urging them to check the university they will study in, to learn whether it has a license on educational programs for foreign students. She recommended applying to the Ukrainian state center of international education for detailed information.

"When we get inquiries regarding the certification of the Ukrainian diploma, this issue is dealt with by another structure - the National Information Center of Academic Mobility. This center is already dealing with most documents from Azerbaijan. This center can also provide reliable information about what a university that you apply for must have for its diploma to be recognized. The website of the center that is available in Ukrainian, Russian and English languages, provides the whole list of documents to submit for diploma recognition," Hrynevych said.

She also added that Ukraine has a 'black list' of universities.
