Sri Lankan consulate in Dubai informed about death of three students

Western Caspian University has informed the consulate of Sri Lanka in Dubai about three Sri Lankan students killed in a fire in Baku, Report says, citing the University.

Wherethrough Sri Lanka has no diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan, a contact was established with the country's consulate in Dubai. "We are waiting for a response from the Consulate," Western Caspian University said.

At midnight on Friday in the Bayil metropolitan area, a fire occurred on the ground floor of a two-story building. The cause of the fire was a short circuit in the wiring. During the fire, three bodies were found in a room of 36 square meters.

In turn, the Sabail district police department reported that the victims were students from Sri Lanka - Malsha Sandeepani, Tharuki Amaya, Tausi Jayavodi, who studied at the Western University of Baku.
