SEC chief: People in Azerbaijan use private lessons for other purposes

"Today people in Azerbaijan use private lessons for other purposes," said Maleyka Abbaszade, chairperson of the Directors' Board of the State Examination Center.

According to Report, she said some parents want their children to know additional languages: "Therefore, they take private lessons. For instance, a child learns only the English language at school but wants to learn French, too. Therefore, they turn to tutors. Private lessons will exist as long as there are such cases."

Abbaszade said tutors could not be a substitution to school: "It is necessary to prevent such situations and improve the level of teaching at school. It is impossible to prevent the activity of tutors by any law."
