Number of students of school named after Heydar Aliyev in Russia’s Astrakhan up by 20%

The number of students in the school named after Heydar Aliyev in the Russian city of Astrakhan has increased by 20%, the school’s principal Tatyana Tikhomirova told journalists, Report informs.

“Currently, 850 students are studying in this school. After the reconstruction, the number of students increased by 20%,” she said.

According to Tatyana Tikhomirova, representatives of more than 20 nationalities with different cultures, as well as children with disabilities, study in the school.

The director emphasized that both students and parents participated in the events held at the school on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev.

Tikhomirova added that younger schoolchildren are informed about what kind of person he was as a family head and father, while older pupils are told about his political activities and the role he played in strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
