Number of Azerbaijani citizens studying in Georgia declines

Tbilisi. 1 March . REPORT.AZ/ As many as 2,124 Azerbaijani citizens are currently studying in Georgia, local Bureau of Report News Agency informs citing the report provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

470 of the Azerbaijani citizens are studying in the state universities, while 1,654 are the students of private universities.

The annual number of Azerbaijani citizens studying in the neighboring country has decreased by 578 people. The number of Azerbaijani citizens studying in Georgia was 2,702 in 2017-2018 academic year.

14 Georgian citizens studied Azerbaijan was 14 in the last academic year. All of them were the students of private universities. There is no Georgian citizen studying at both state and private universities in Azerbaijan in the current academic year.

Totally 12,234 foreign students study in Georgia’s universities. Of them 4,236 of them are students of state universities, while 7,998 study in private universities. Indian citizens rank first with 5,830 people among the foreign students.
