Nobel laureate condemns discrimination against Afro-Americans in US

Discrimination against blacks still persists in America, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, world-renowned scientist, Professor Aziz Sancar said at a press conference, Report informs.

He noted that although more than 200 years have passed since the United States gained independence, these problems have not yet been resolved:

"Afro-Americans still make up the lower strata of that country. I say this not to criticize America, but because many are trying to improve the situation. America is a Christian country, and 40% of its population is Christian. The rest are from other religions. There are enough Muslims in the United States. But no matter what steps are taken, it is impossible for society to change its attitude towards Muslims."
