The Public Union "For the Social Welfare of Citizens" implemented two key projects in 2023–2024 related to Western Azerbaijan, said the organization’s chairwoman Nadima Rahimli during a briefing on initiatives aimed at promoting return to Western Azerbaijan.
Report quotes Rahimli as saying in 2023, a photo exhibition was organized highlighting the historical monuments and cultural heritage of Western Azerbaijan:
"As part of the project, a photo album titled 'Iravan – Our History, Our Land, Our Destiny' was prepared and presented. The exhibition showcased around 300 photographs and illustrations reflecting historical monuments, culture, education, publishing, and prominent historical figures of ancient Iravan. All materials were presented with explanations in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English," she said.
Rahimli added that traditional clothing, carpets, musical instruments, historical documents, and ancient artifacts characteristic of Western Azerbaijan were also displayed at the event.
She emphasized that nearly all photographs included in the photo album were sourced from the collections of German, Russian, English, and Dutch travel artists:
"There are even paintings by an artist of Armenian origin depicting a mosque in the center of Iravan," she noted.
