On May 24, The Nippon Foundation of Japan organized a book donation ceremony at Western Caspian University, Report informs.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Junichi Wada took part in the event.
Since 2008, the Foundation has carefully selected books on Japan written in English and donated books to libraries and research centers around the world. Since April 2021, books have been shipped to 1,066 institutions in 138 countries.
During the event, Junichi Wada made a speech and thanked the university for the organized meeting.
"The presented books about Japan cover different areas such as art, literature, diplomatic relations of Japan with other countries... I hope that with the help of these books, students will have more knowledge about modern Japan and, in the future, they will use these books in their research," the ambassador said.
The diplomat also reminded that 30 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Japan will be celebrated in 2022.
