Aziz Sancar: "4 students committed suicide due to pandemic at university where I work"

"We were constantly doing scientific research with our team. As a result of the pandemic, our research has been reduced," world-renowned scientist, Nobel Laureate, Professor Aziz Sancar, said at a panel on "Science and Education in the Post-Pandemic Era" at the UNEC Economic Forum.

"Our working groups have been locked in their apartments for a year. The situation in the United States has improved in the last four months. Vaccination made it possible. However, people must wear a mask and take strict protective measures. Over the previous two months, there have been four suicides among students at the school where I work since the beginning of the academic year," he said.
