Azerbaijan improved its PISA score by 63 points compared with the results published in 2022, ranking second globally in terms of growth, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev said during a presentation of the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2025.
According to Report, by 2029, 80–90% of students participating in the PISA assessment will be children who have received preschool education. Amrullayev expects this to have a significant positive impact on the country's results.
"According to the results of the assessment, Azerbaijan is among the top 50 countries, while Baku is among the top 30 economies. We are one of the countries with the strongest positive momentum," the minister noted.
He said Singapore, Macao (China), Chinese Taipei, Japan and the Republic of Korea lead the PISA 2025 ranking in mathematical literacy.
According to Amrullayev, Baku's mathematics score increased by 63 points compared with the previous assessment cycle.
