Azerbaijan develops new project to reduce pandemic's negative impact on education

The Ministry of Education has developed a new project called 'Supporting students according to their learning needs" to reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 on education, the director of the Institute of Education, Rufat Azizov, said at training on Media and Education Dialogue.

According to him, in order to overcome the negative impact of coronavirus on education, the project will identify students' learning needs, ensure the professional development of educators working in secondary schools to support the proper organization of school education during and after the pandemic.

Thus, about 1,300 students from 18 schools in 6 districts would be supported in accordance with their learning needs.

Azizov noted that a support program will be developed for students and implemented taking into account children with disabilities: "Individual counseling services will be provided to 75 teachers in need of professional development in 6 districts. Teachers' practical skills will be improved by involving them in the actual process in groups of students receiving support in accordance with their needs, and school-based individual mentoring support will be provided to enhance their professional development."
