ADA University hosts International Arbitration in Globalized World conference

Today, a scientific and practical conference seminar on the topic “International arbitration in a globalized world: challenges to fundamental concepts and prospects” was held at ADA University, Report informs.

The event was organized jointly by the ADA University School of Law and the Center for Transnational Litigation, Arbitration, and Commercial Law at New York University Law School.

“The Faculty of Law of our university constantly interacts and organizes joint events with local and international lawyers, as well as with international organizations. And this, I think, is very useful for the legal system of Azerbaijan, for its enrichment and development,” Vice-Rector of ADA University Fariz Ismayilzada said at the opening of the symposium.

In turn, Dean of the Faculty of Law Rashad Ibadov emphasized that the main goal of holding such events is to train a new generation of lawyers.

“This symposium is being held very timely, since a new law on arbitration in Azerbaijan was adopted on January 25, 2024. This is the first international event since the adoption of the new law. I hope that this conference will set the pace for the development of arbitration in our country,” he said.

The conference brings together professors from New York University, Paris Oriental University and ADA University, as well as leading lawyers working in their respective fields in international and local law firms.
