The ceremony of launching the first short-term joint program of the ADA University (Azerbaijan) and the University of Bologna (Italy) on agriculture and food system management within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Italian University was held in Baku, Report informs.
Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev made a speech at the meeting.
It was noted that two representatives of the Azerbaijani university are already doing doctoral studies in Bologna, and it is planned to send another ten people to the University of Bologna.
The first short-term joint program between ADA and the University of Bologna will last three weeks.
ADA Rector Hafiz Pashayev noted that he is very pleased that this program is being implemented jointly with the most ancient university in the world.
"Agriculture occupies the second place after energy in the economy of our country," Pashayev said, adding that the first recipients of the certificates will be kind of pioneers and will contribute to its further implementation.
Addressing the students, Pashayev stressed the importance of this program for the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan.
The rector of the University of Bologna, Giovanni Molari, noted that his university itself is trying to innovate and develop relationships with other educational institutions. According to him, for the University of Bologna, the contribution to internationalization and the "mixing of cultures" is important.
"For us, the goal is to work together with the ADA University, to cooperate, to exchange students. We now have the opportunity to develop more academic programs and strengthen our cooperation," he said.
