The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) supports Azerbaijan's projects aimed at providing assistance on climate change, possible risks, as well as the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Acting UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Charu Bista said at an international conference on "Caspian Sea level fluctuations in climate change, forecasts and adaptation measures" held in Baku, Report informs.
Charu Bista thanked the Azerbaijani government for its active work to achieve the SDGs and the transition to renewable energy sources.
"We may all face an uncertain future due to climate change. It is known that the Caspian Sea is a unique reservoir of this region and the world, but in recent years the water level in it has been decreasing. The coastal countries have an influence on the state of the Caspian Sea today. We must all work together to solve this problem," she noted.
