The UN is ready to assist Azerbaijan in creating a zone of ‘net zero emissions’ in the liberated territories, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at an event on the "Green transformation in Azerbaijan: Sustainable Development Goals," Report informs.
She noted that the very first dialogue on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is aimed at green transformation in Azerbaijan.
She reminded that the Climate Change Conference (COP27) opens in Sharm el-Sheikh on November 6.
“Azerbaijan has identified a clean environment as one of its main goals. At the COP 26 conference in Glasgow last year, Azerbaijan also expressed its desire to achieve the creation of a ‘net zero emissions’ zone in the liberated territories. The UN aims to work with Azerbaijan in this regard to help country in achieving these goals,” said Vladanka Andreeva.
