In July of this year, maximum air temperatures in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula reached 39°C, while in other regions they climbed as high as 41°C.
The National Hydrometeorology Service told in response to Report's inquiry that the average monthly temperature stood at 28°C, which is 2°C above the climatic norm.
It was also emphasized that over the past five years, average July temperatures have been 5–8°C higher than the climatic norm.
