Scandinavian countries can be become crucial partners for Azerbaijan as it embarks on its journey towards a green transition, according to Tobias Lorentzon, the Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Speaking at a panel discussion during the Nordic Green Model initiative (NORDIC TALKS) in Baku, Lorentzon highlighted the Nordic nations' long-standing commitment to promoting sustainable development goals both domestically and globally, Report informs.
"The experience of Scandinavian countries has demonstrated that environmental and climate policies and economic growth and competitiveness are not mutually exclusive," Lorentzon emphasized.
Lorentzon underscored the potential for collaboration, stating, "Nordic countries can become important partners for Azerbaijan in its ongoing and ambitious green transition, including by offering green technological solutions through our companies."
Lorentzon added, "Ahead of COP29 to be held in Baku in November, our region will also actively advocate for advancing effective solutions in international climate negotiations."
