In Armenia, companies operating in the mining industry are causing significant environmental harm and have international partners, stated Sabit Baghirov, co-founder of the Environmental Protection First Coalition, Report informs.
Baghirov made the announcement during a briefing about the ecological damage inflicted on Azerbaijan and the broader South Caucasus region by Armenia's illegal mining activities.
He noted that countries such as the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, and South Cyprus support these activities, leading to environmental pollution in the Caucasus.
