Pollution of Okhchuchay river by Armenia leads to mass death of fish

The regular monitoring, carried out for the environmental assessment of the Azerbaijani lands liberated from occupation, revealed the death of more than 500 trout and other fish in the Okhchuchay river flowing through the territory of the Zangilan district, the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Report.

The content of copper, molybdenum, manganese, iron, zinc, chromium and other similar heavy metals in the river water samples was many times higher than the norm.

The results of monitoring and analysis, as well as the facts of mass fish death in the river, once again proved the pollution of the river with toxic waste from the Kajaran Copper-Molybdenum Plant and the Kapan copper ore refinery operating in Armenia.
